Touted as the largest archeological museum in the world, this $1 billion state-of-the-art project will display 5,400 artifacts from Tutankhamun’s tomb along with following the king’s history in detail. The new collection will include a 3,200-year-old statue of Rameses II and chronological galleries that will be organized according to themes such as: Beliefs and Eternity, Kingship and Power, and Society. Game of Thrones Studio Tour
County Down, Northern Ireland

The final season of the TV show Game of Thrones may have come to an end, but the award-winning HBO series still lives on in Northern Ireland, where a 110,000-square-foot tourist attraction is scheduled to open in spring 2020. The immersive tour will be an interactive exhibition of the show’s sets, props and costumes as well as a walkthrough on how some of the technically ambitious scenes were created and brought to life. From the armory, costume, art and make-up departments, this behind-the-scenes tour will give fans an exclusive look the Seven Kingdoms, including Winterfell, Dragonstone, and King’s Landing. The opening is part of the year-long celebrations to mark the 60th anniversary of the Forbidden City. What does this mean for tourists? Created for the anticipated retirement of the Qianlong Emperor – China’s longest-reigning sovereign (1771-1776) – Qianlong Garden is spread across almost 2 acres and includes 4 courtyards, 27 individual structures. Dawn Café
Tokyo, Japan

As the host for the 2020 Summer Olympics and Paralympics, Tokyo is destined to become a hot travel destination next year. And if you’re planning a trip to root for Team U.S.A., then you should also visit the Dawn Café while you’re in Tokyo. Don’t look for human baristas at this new-age café. Controlled by the eye movements of people with severe mobility impairments, robots will move around, take orders and speak to customers. This pop-up trial in 2018 turned successful venture has a permanent base and will provide employment opportunities for people to work from home or the hospital. Grab Bicycle Path
Rome, Italy

If you’re heading to Rome next year, you may want to consider some outdoor fun… 28 miles of it to be exact. Explore the city on what promises to be the longest urban bike path in the world, allowing tourists to take in sights such as the Colosseum, St. Peter’s Basilica, and the Appian Way. Cyclists have been able to travel partial routes, but the full bike path is set to open next year, allowing tourist another option to leisurely explore the Eternal City.

The Embrace
Boston, Massachusetts, USA

Boston will pay homage to civil rights leaders Martin Luther King Jr. and his wife Coretta Scott King when they unveil a memorial, entitled “The Embrace,” next year. The 22-foot bronze sculpture, designed by artist Hank Willis Thomas and MASS Design Group, inspires love and compassion in the community. The memorial conjures images of a couple embracing and the walking arm-in-arm protests of the 60s. Boston Common is home to the new installation, and a symbolic place because it was the finishing point of an anti-segregation march in 1965 led by the civil rights pioneer. A King Center for Economic Justice will also open in the city’s Roxbury neighborhood.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Plan a trip to attend the Dubai World Expo in October 2020 to join locals and tourists alike as they become the first to ride on the highly-anticipated Hyperloop. Costing between $20 and $40 million per .06 mile, the Hyperloop has been touted as an innovative solution to crossing long distances at top speeds. At the Expo, the track won’t connect Dubai to Abu Dhabi, but the public will be able to test out a 6-mile stretch of the new mode of transportation. Will it revolutionize travel the way we know it? The new permanent space will showcase exhibits and events that will examine the early history of Chinese immigration in the United States as well as the unique merging of American & Chinese traditions and the evolution of contemporary Chinese-American culture.
